Assessment Activity 3: Placement Evaluation
- Really un-organised
- Never replied to e-mails until you nagged them a few times
other then those two points everything went really smooth. My day started with the bump-in crew and setting up tents and stalls before moving into the Green room and setting all the tables and food/beverages for the artist throughout the day.
Starting on the Emigra Stage setting up the lighting and sound for the wires and mics, it was an experince to know how close to detail you have to be for the lighting is the main thing for the stages themselves.
Talking on the radios was the key way of communicating on the day, for we were all the MacCabe park and it was easier the running all the way to the other end of the park to speak to someone, the community hall was the main base for everyone to go if you needed help or to replace the batteries of the radios.
I kept rotating back and fourth between the green room and emigra stage through most of the day just making sure everything was working prefectly and everything was in order. when it got to 9pm the emigra stage and green room were closed and we began to do the Bump out, we wrapped everything up by 10:15pm. Had a quick de-brief by Karen are superviser over the day, thanking us for the jobs we did today and couldnt have done it without us.

The skills and knowledged I developed over the three days of promotion and participating in the Viva La Gong festival have been an experience i will not forget, the people and atmosphere is truely one of a kind.
I learnt how to use a Radio headset and the correct way to set up sound stage for the artist to perform.
I learn't that not all artist just play instructments full-time most of them have jobs and other hobbies outside of the band playing, it will be a day that will always be a fun experince for me to have done.

Assessment activity 1: Short written report
I heard about Viva by Rebecca and justin because they were doing it aswell, and I ran out of places to choose from but I was more then happy to be here.
I applied for a few spots for I was really keen to learn what goes on behind the scenes.
The way I obtained and confirmed my workplace for viva was showing up on the induction day told them who I was and they gave me the paper work to fill out and I was in business.
The main person who I have been speaking to is Karen Pearson, She is only young but seems to know what is going on with the festival and she knows how to handle things. On the day of the festival itself, the person who will be supervising me is the OH&S Officer (can't recall her name).
The days I was giving to do my workplacement are:
- thursday, 10th nov - Promotions
- friday, 11th nov - Promotions
- saturday 12th nov - Green room/ Stage Manager/ bump in - bump out crew
